ACMQ’s Annual Conference Medical Quality 2020 Goes Virtual

In response to concerns around COVID-19, the ACMQ Annual Conference Medical Quality 2020 has been redesigned and will now take place as a virtual conference.

Caring for the health and safety of ACMQ members and staff will always be our highest priority and has guided our actions in this decision. Although we share your disappointment that our in-person event cannot continue as planned, we are excited to provide the experience that our attendees, staff and partners expect and deserve in a safe environment.

Medical Quality 2020 will now occur between Tuesday, August 25 and Friday, August 28 and will consist of four rich days of eight live 75-minute interactive sessions and subsequently available as recorded video conferencing content. Medical Quality 2020 will also feature a happy hour/business meeting to provide attendees the opportunity to network and mingle with colleagues virtually.

This lively virtual conference will retain much of the dynamic and robust program that was planned for onsite and will feature an extraordinary line up of nationally recognized quality experts, including among others:

  • David B. Nash, MD, MBA, FACMQ presenting "New Normal for QI—What will Quality Leaders Need to Succeed in Post COVID-19/Digital Health World?"
  • Shantanu Agrawal, MD, MPhil and Michelle Schreiber, MD discussing "How to Accelerate Impact of Quality Measurement Through Digital Health."
  • Kathleen Blake, MD, MPH, FACC; Michael Rakotz, MD, FAHA, FAAFP; and Byron Scott, MD, MBA, FACEP, FAAPL exploring "Quality Improvement Reimagined in the Era of Digital Health."
  • Karen S. Kmetik, PhD; Marjorie Cowan Rallins, DPM, MMI; and Misty Roberts, RN, MSN, CPHQ, PMP leading a discussion on "Quality Measurement that Matters in the Era of Digital Health."

There is no doubt that COVID-19 will not only affect our conference but the future of healthcare quality. Because of this, many of the primary topics of conversation will be focused on the faculty's own perspectives and experiences through the wide lens of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are grateful for your patience and support as ACMQ works to transform this event into an amazing new opportunity. The success of our virtual event will depend on all of us working together and creating a common space and purpose while we build on our theme, Ensuring Quality in the Era of Digital Health.
Looking forward to seeing you all virtually in August! In the meantime, stay safe and healthy.
