The American College of Medical Quality is dedicated to conducting and sponsoring on-going research and evaluation in the various fields of medical quality. By starting to conduct research and grapple with medical quality issues in medical school and residency, physicians-in-training are ideally placed to elevate the standards of their post-graduate education in the area of medical quality management. All Quality Scholar applicants are therefore asked to submit an essay or an opinion piece that highlights your academic interest, or personal experience, in medical quality issues that face our current health care system. You may also submit a summary of a research initiative that you have personally been a part of. You may submit an abstract or article, published or unpublished, describing a research initiative only if you are the sole author.

Quality scholars will EITHER present their essays/abstract OR contribute their essays/abstract to a collection for distribution at Medical Quality 2011 in San Antonio, Texas.

Since this application is targeted at physicians-in-training at all levels, the requirement for this section is aimed at being as inclusive as possible. All applications will be judged based on their merit with respect to the level of training of the applicant.
